Technology has become an unavoidable part of our everyday lives. While the internet is a great tool for connection, it is also a hotbed for crime. Seniors are particularly vulnerable to these types of crimes because they are often not familiar with cybersecurity techniques and resources. Holland Home is helping spread awareness with six tips for seniors looking to enhance their cybersecurity.
Reading is not only an excellent form of entertainment but a great exercise for the mind. It introduces new ideas, inspires creativity, and expands vocabulary. To help our residents (and anyone else who is reading this!) grow intellectually and challenge themselves, we are encouraging them to read one book a month this year. We’ve compiled a list of 12 literary works based on recommendations from The New York Times, Barnes & Noble, Amazon and the Kent District Library. Whether you are a lifelong reader or just getting started, this collection of historical fiction, personal memoirs, and thought-provoking essays will have something for you!
Serving our community’s seniors...Like it should be.

Approximately 1 in 7 adults aged 65 and over suffer from some form of dementia. With substantial growth in the aging population over the next decade, this number will only increase which is why Holland Home has been dedicated to bringing Memory Care to the forefront of what they offer.
This dedication has led our specially trained team to become one of only five Positive Approach to Care (PAC) designated facilities in the nation.
The Holland Home Board of Directors joins with the community to celebrate the life of Luis Tomatis, M.D. Dr. Tomatis served as a member of our board and on the Strategic Planning Committee from 2013-2020.
In just a matter of weeks, our Vibrant Living team has put together a variety of creative solutions and resources that encourage healthy behaviors for residents — giving them the tools they need to maintain their health, wellness, and a sense of normalcy from their own homes amid the COVID-19 situation.
