Planned Giving

Ensuring Our Promise of Care.

We make a lifelong commitment to each one of our residents. We see them as family and as such, we serve, care for, and share with one another—especially when someone outlives their personal resources. Your gifts play a vital role in making this possible and securing the futures for everyone who calls Holland Home home. Beyond giving a cash gift, there are several other ways you can support Holland Home, the Holland Home Foundation, and/or Faith Hospice.

Giving Through Your Will Or Trust:

Including a planned gift in your Will or Trust is the most common and simplest way to support our mission.

“During our married life we have carefully managed our finances, including tithing. Once we moved to Breton Woods, we realized we also wanted control over our finances after death. We especially wanted to benefit the charities we support now. The Foundation staff connected us with Barnabas Foundation which, at no cost to us, will distribute funds to the charities of our choice. One of them is the Holland Home Resident Assistance Fund.”

— John & Janice B., Holland Home Residents

Help with Your Will

Giving Through a Charitable Gift Annuity:

A simple arrangement that combines a charitable gift with an annuity. You make the gift (a portion is tax-deductible) and you receive fixed payments for the rest of your life.

“A Charitable Gift Annuity: it’s a triple blessing. A blessing to the giver. A blessing to receive those quarterly returns. A blessing to participate in the mission of Holland Home. I’m glad I made the choice for this triple blessing.”

— Bill V., Holland Home Resident

Giving Through Your Retirement Plan:

If you are 70 ½ or older, you may directly transfer funds from your retirement asset (IRA or another tax-deferred plan). This qualifies as a portion of the Required Minimum Distribution.

“We’ve donated a portion of our annual Required Minimum Distribution from our IRA for several years. This is a ‘win-win’ for both Holland Home and us. Holland Home receives an annual donation and our taxable income is decreased by that amount. It can’t get any better!”

— Jake & Ann S., Holland Home Residents

Giving Through A Gift Of Stock Or Mutual Funds:

A gift of appreciated stock is a wonderful way to give without writing a check and may provide you with tax benefits.

“We decided to include Holland Home as one of the charities in our estate plan because of what we see–how people are cared for and valued.”

— John & Judy S., Holland Home Residents

Giving Through A Beneficiary Designation:

You can designate Holland Home to receive a gift from your life insurance, retirement plan, annuity, pension, U.S. Savings Bonds, bank account, or brokerage account. You simply complete a “beneficiary designation” form provided by the company that manages the asset.
