Weaving our story through songs.

Blind composer, Fanny Crosby, wrote over 8,000 hymns, including “Blessed Assurance,” which includes the well-known chorus, “This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all day long.”

This famous hymn is known by many and holds a special place in hearts around the world. Throughout our lives, songs like these come to be associated with our own stories, taking on a deeper and more profound meaning.

Holland Home asked those in our greater community to share their favorite hymns and worship songs along with the story that gives it extra meaning. We are compiling the songs and stories into a booklet. This booklet will serve as a testimony to God’s goodness in our lives. A copy will be distributed to each individual who participates in the This is My Song Project.

shares his song and story:

One of my favorite hymns is “How Great Thou Art.” It is a reminder of what a great, powerful, and majestic God we serve!  When Billy Graham was asked why he used the song so much at his crusades, he said:

“It glorifies God. It turns Christians’ eyes toward God rather than upon themselves. I use it as often as possible because it is such a God-honoring song.”
